Plein Air

I did some hiking over the past month and did a couple plein air paintings in watercolor.

The first one is of a White Marsh Marigold. I was at Lake Creek by Wolf Creek Pass checking waterfalls. I was having a hard time finding a good location to paint the falls on Lake Creek, so I took a break from my search and painted the marigold. Hardly any wildflowers were growing, but there were a lot of these marigolds.

I went hiking to a place closer to home with the intent of doing some fishing. Instead, I did this Plein air watercolor of Hassell Lake at 11,300' above sea level.

Both paintings were done using my new Portable Painter pallet (very cool and very functional) and a new sketchbook that has very nice watercolor paper in it. The sketch book is a Luchetti True Flas Sketchbook (also very cool and functional).
